Game notes: The Saints return the nation’s leading goal scorer in Greg Carey but All-Americans Kyle Flanagan (15 & 32) and George Hughes (5 & 32), the team’s second and third-leading point-getters, have graduated. Hughes was a defenseman. St. Lawrence coach Greg Carvel said he will have seven or eight newcomers in the lineup on a regular basis and they will hold the key to the team’s success. “We’re deeper than we were last year,” said Carvel. “Last year, we had two and a half (good) lines. This year we’ll have four.” Maine will be without resourceful checking-line center Stu Higgins (groin pull). In addition to neutralizing Carey, the Black Bears will also have to solve Weninger, who made 66 saves on 67 shots in the Saints’ 5-0, 5-1 sweep of Maine in Orono last October. “It’s a small rink so we’re going to have to shoot more. screen the goalie and bother him,” said Maine’s Shore.
