CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE – Phyllis R. Getchell, 82, died unexpectedly Oct. 8, 2013, at her home in Leisure Village in Presque Isle. She was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Caribou, the daughter of the late Harry and Frances (McGlinn) Shaw.
She married Garth Getchell, Sept. 4, 1948. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Beaulieu of Presque Isle, and Patricia Peterson and her husband, Michael, of Elgin, Ill.; her “adoptive daughter,” Judy Belanger of Presque Isle; her grandchildren, Rick Beaulieu of Vancouver, Wash., Scott Beaulieu of Beaverton, Ore., and Randy Beaulieu of Presque Isle; a brother-in-law, Frederick Getchell and his wife, Charlotte, of Lady Lake, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Jackie Shaw of Caribou; several nieces and nephews; including a special nephew, John Shaw and his children, Andrew, Timmy, and Christina; and special nieces, Janice Pinette and her husband, Mark, and their children, Ben and Carlee, and Joyce Findlen and her husband, Scott, and their children, Caleb and Austin. Mrs. Getchell was predeceased by her husband, Garth; her brother, Jack Shaw; and a son-in-law, Clifford Beaulieu. A special thank you to all of the staff at Leisure Village for their compassionate and dedicated care. Services will be held graveside for immediate family and close friends.
