THORNDIKE, Maine — For sportsmen and women, hunting fans and people who just plain like the popular A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty,” the place to be this weekend is Mount View High School.
The school will host the Maine Sportsmans Night, an event sponsored by the Knox Ridge Baptist Church as part of the congregation’s community outreach efforts. Organizer Christian Carlson said Thursday that the event should provide a lot of information and fun for attendees. Speakers will include Justin Martin, an employee and friend of the Robertson family on “Duck Dynasty.”
“He’ll talk about being on the show, and have some fun stories,” Carlson said. “He’ll have some duck call instruction and will also talk about his faith.”
Attendees also will have the chance to meet and greet some of the officers from the “North Woods Law” reality show on Animal Planet and hear from Blaine Anthony of Benton, who produces another reality show called “The Bear Whisperer.”
“He’s a local hero,” Carlson said. “He does a lot as far as bear conservation.”
The event also will feature 45 outdoor-focused vendors. Doors open at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the high school. Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 at the door. For information, visit www. mainesportsmansnight.com.
