MILO – Russell Simpson Gray, 70, husband of Lorraine A. (Castle) Gray, passed away Oct. 3, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Quincy, Mass., the son of Randolph and Evelyn (Bonnett) Gray.
Russ was an active member of the United Baptist Church in Milo, where he had been serving as trustee, and was a past deacon. He attended Sunday school and church services every week. He was devoted to his family and especially loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Holidays were always a favorite of his. Russ worked for many years in area factories, and later was able to do what he truly loved – antiques. He and his wife traveled and did shows throughout New England. He was an avid gardener and very proud of the flower gardens around his house.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Milo; and two daughters, Tammy Griffin and husband, Michael, and their son, Colin, all of Boston, and Robin Boyington and husband, Bill, of Millinocket and their children, Jennifer Nason and husband, Kevin, Andrea Plumber and husband, Josh, and Daniel. He also leaves six great-grandchildren, Mason, Carleigh, Jonah, Aubrey, Peyton, and Gage; and a sister, Nancy Beatrice of Las, Vegas.
Friends and family are invited to call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at United Baptist Church, Milo, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
