Brewer woman faces felony charge over $2 cigarette lighter

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A woman is facing a felony theft charge over a Bic lighter from Rite Aid, according to police.

Donna Dray, 45, of Brewer, who has a lengthy criminal record, was arrested shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards said.

The theft charge against Dray was elevated to a felony due to the fact that she has prior convictions for theft, the lieutenant said.

Dray had attempted to leave the Union Street establishment without paying for a $2 cigarette lighter, Edwards said, and was ultimately arrested.

According to court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News, Dray has numerous theft and drug convictions dating back to 2006.

She is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
