Electrical problems at 2 Orono schools repaired; classes resume Tuesday

ORONO, Maine — Electrical problems that closed Orono High School and Orono Middle School on Monday have been repaired and there will be school at both facilities on Tuesday, according to the RSU 26 website.

Crews from Bangor Hydro were at the schools, located on Goodrich Drive, for much of Sunday and Monday.

Bangor Hydro determined that the problem was underground between the pole and the school in the middle school parking lot, stated an earlier posting on the RSU 26 website. Bangor Hydro worked to correct the problem.

School was held Monday at Asa Adams Elementary School, which is not connected to the high school and middle school complex.

High school sporting events were held Monday afternoon. Middle school athletics were canceled.
