BANGOR, Maine — Electricity was knocked out for more than 14,000 customers across the state Saturday afternoon, but by 6 p.m. most people in eastern Maine had their power restored..
Residents of Eddington, Clifton, Holden and other surrounding communities were affected, according to Bangor Hydro, but only 31 of their customers were still without power by early evening.
Central Maine Power listed more than 11,400 outages on its website as of 4:34 p.m., but had restored power to many, leaving only 7,002 customers without power at 6:04 p.m. Most of the remaining outages were in Cumberland County (6,917).
