Bangor Officer Jason Stuart promoted to sergeant

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor police officer has been promoted to the rank of sergeant, the department announced Thursday.

Jason Stuart, who has been with the department since 2008, was promoted on Wednesday, according to Lt. Paul Edwards.

Stuart has been an Intoxilyzer site coordinator with the department since 2009, and a member of the special response team since 2008, according to Edwards.

A graduate of Greely High School and the University of Maine, Stuart has also volunteered for the Special Olympics during his time with Bangor police. He is a two-time recipient of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association’s Heroism Award (2008, 2009).
