Cano helps Thomas roll past Southern Maine

GORHAM, Maine — Kenny Cano scored a pair of second-half goals seven minutes apart to help propel the Thomas College Terriers to a 6-0 men’s soccer victory over the University of Southern Maine Huskies Tuesday.

Dakota Duplissie, Joshua Phelps, Guled Guled and Kevin Parsons scored a goal apiece for 3-2 Thomas College of Waterville. Michael Hand provided two assists while Tre Ming and Gunnar Shelton added one each to support Mikkail Crockwell and WInston Trott, who combined on the shutout without making a save.

Adam Verreault made six stops for the University of Southern Maine (0-6-1).

UM-Farmington 0, Lyndon 0 (OT)

At Farmington, goalkeeper Derek Reilly made six saves on 19 shots to help the Beavers preserve a scoreless double-overtime tie against the Hornets.

Jason Marks came up with seven saves on 14 shots for Lyndon State (0-4-1, 0-0-1 North Atlantic Conference).

The University of Maine-Farmington is now 1-1-1, 0-0-1 in NAC play.

Women’s soccer

Saint Joseph’s 1, Thomas 0

At Waterville, Lauren Chouinard of Saint Joseph’s dribbled just inside the box and buried a shot past Thomas goalie Kate Thibodeau on the far post side at the 64:24 en route to the win for the Monks.

Thibodeau made eight saves for 2-4 Thomas and Jaci Lorenzen made four saves for the 2-4 Monks of Standish.
