Car fire hinders traffic on I-395

A burned-out car sits on the side of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 395 in Bangor on Tuesday morning.

BANGOR, Maine — The eastern terminus of Interstate 395 in Bangor has been shut down due to a vehicle fire.

The Exit 182B southbound off-ramp is also closed to traffic, and I-395 eastbound motorists are being rerouted by state and Bangor police to Exit 1A.

The car was burnt out but the driver was alert and talking to police and rescue personnel at the scene.

No other details were immediately available.
