CORINTH, Maine — Maine State Police are investigating the death of a local man and an apparent stabbing at a Beans Mill Road home, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Christopher Darner, 37, of Corinth died after an incident at 87 Beans Mill Road, according to police. That’s the home of Darner’s estranged 22-year-old wife, who was there at the time and had a protection from abuse order against Darner. She was not injured.
Another man, Kirt Damon Jr., 24, of Searsport, was also at the home at the time and suffered stab wounds in the incident, McCausland said. Damon is being treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
McCausland also stated that a Belfast man was in the home but was not hurt.
Police were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m., and detectives are continuing to investigate what happened at the home. No one has been arrested or charged at this time.
McCausland said the three remaining people who were in the home are cooperating with police.
No other details about what led up to the death and stabbing were immediately available Sunday.
