HODGDON – Karen Ann Hopkins, 60, died Sept. 12, 2013, in Hodgdon. She was born June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Frederick and Catherine (Deuschle) Dreves.

She grew up in Laramie, Wyo., lived in New Jersey for many years, then moved to Maine in 2000 where she spent her last years in Hodgdon. Karen had a life-long love of music and animals, especially horses and cats. She was a practicing RN for several years and had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Hopkins of Hodgdon; son, Michael Hopkins of Hodgdon; two stepchildren, Caleb and Emily Hopkins of Hamilton, N.J.; sister, Mary and Philip Sanders of Ewing, N.J.; two nieces, Catherine and Annemarie Sanders; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary’s of the Visitation Catholic Church, with Father Dave Raymond celebrant.
