MILO – Douglas V. Warren Sr., 70, passed away Sept. 12, 2013, in Bangor, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Milo, the son of Robert and Elsie (Strout) Warren.
Doug was an avid brook trout fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his fishing pole. He had many other skills as well and always was gratified to be able to teach someone something that made their lives better. He had a strong attachment to his hometown and to its people. His favorite contribution to living in Milo was being part of the building of the Gazebo in the park by the river. He enjoyed seeing the pictures of events there and knowing he had helped make it possible.
Doug is survived by his wife of 49 years, Isabelle (Wallace) Warren; his daughter, Victoria Warren and companion, Tim Chapman, of Milo; and his son, Douglas V. Warren Jr. and his wife, Valerie, of Monson. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Robert Leo Rumery of Waterbury, Conn., Jamie Lyn Kleinkauf of Milo, Douglas V. Warren III, and Zachary W. Warren both of Monson. Doug is also survived by a sister, Barbara McNally of Bangor; brothers, Neil Warren and wife, Monica, of Atkinson, Joseph Warren and wife, Debbie, of Sebec, and Louis Warren and wife, Paulette, of Greene; a brother-in-law, Carroll Gerry of Vonore, Tenn.; and sister-in-law, Catherine Smart of Medway. Doug also leaves his uncle, Clarence Strout and his wife, Edie, of Milo; his aunt, Ruth Nason of Sebec; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents and brothers, John and Richard.
Friends are invited to call 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Nancy Moore officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Immediately after the committal service there will be a celebration of Doug’s life at the American Legion Hall in Milo.
