HOLDEN, Maine — With the semi-retirement of Granville “Ned” Jennings, the Granville family of companies is getting out of the rental business.

To that end, Granville Rental will conduct a liquidation sale Sunday of its heavy equipment and party supplies, a company official said.

Granville Stone & Hearth, however, will remain open at the company’s location at 205 Main Road in Holden.

Meanwhile, Granville Stone & Granville Rental in Ellsworth is now closed and has reopened as Atlantic Equipment.

The auction begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Holden store and will be conducted by Alex Lyon & Son out of Bridgewater, N.Y.

Among the items being sold are hydraulic excavators, skid steers, scissor lifts, wood chippers, wood splitters, van trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, air compressors, compressors, generators, bounce houses, dunk tanks, tables, chairs and banquet supplies.
