BENTON, Maine — An elderly man was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon, and game wardens are attempting to locate him.

Arthur Wakeman, 86, of Benton left his home at some point between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service.

Wakeman is wearing blue jeans and a plaid shirt and may have a walking stick with him, according to MacDonald.

Approximately 10 game wardens and several K-9 units are searching the area of East Benton Road for Wakeman, MacDonald said. State police is assisting by interviewing neighbors.

Anyone who has seen Wakeman in the last 24 hours or has information leading to his return should call state police in Augusta at 624-7076.
