BANGOR, Maine — One month shy of its 10th anniversary, the Ninety Nine Restaurant on Bangor Mall Boulevard is closing its doors, a manager confirmed Thursday.
The restaurant’s last business day will be on Sept. 28. The Ninety Nine, which opened in October 2003 in a building formerly occupied by a Red Lobster restaurant, employs about 40 full-time and part-time workers.
Additional details about the closure were not immediately available. The manager referred other questions about the closure to the company’s corporate headquarters in Woburn, Mass., which is helping employees at its Bangor location find new jobs.
The restaurant chain has more than 100 locations throughout the northeastern United States, according to its website. Its other Maine restaurants are located in Augusta, Auburn, Biddeford and Topsham.
