ORRINGTON, Maine — Police are seeking two men who robbed a woman at knifepoint on Monday evening.

Penobscot County Sheriff Glenn Ross said the masked suspects broke into the woman’s home in the area of Center Drive and Brewer Lake roads and held her at knifepoint around 7:30 p.m.

The sheriff said the suspects got away with undisclosed items, and the woman was not injured.

Shortly after the suspects fled the residence, they were spotted at the Kozy Korner store, according to Ross.

Fearing the store was about to be robbed by the masked men, two civilians chased them away. Ross said police converged on the store shortly after the men got away.

Ross said police are working on a number of leads and trying to figure out if Monday’s incident is connected to a number of recent home invasions in the area.

The sheriff said more information will likely be released later in the day Tuesday.
