Auto enthusiasts packed Bangor Waterfront Park Sept. 7 to examine the more than 100 vehicles displayed during the Sixth Annual Bangor Car Show, hosted by the Greater Bangor Convention & Visitors Bureau and sponsored by Darling’s.

As loudspeakers blared auto-themed songs from the 1950s and ’60s, visitors of all ages checked out cars, trucks, and motorcycles dating from the 1920s to the last decade. The show highlighted the evolution of automotive technology as seen in Fords built in the 1930s and more recent cars sporting the latest in GPS and electronic communications.

The show was one part of a busy day on Main Street. The 36th Annual Bangor Gun Show, sponsored by the Penobscot County Conservation Association, took place Sept. 7-8 at the Cross Insurance Center.
