Old Town woman accused of assaulting ex-husband

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

OLD TOWN, Maine — An Old Town woman was arrested early Sunday morning after an alleged assault on her ex-husband and another woman, police said.

Kevla Hutchins, 65, is facing charges of domestic violence assault and criminal trespass, according to Old Town police Capt. Kyle Smart.

Smart said the victim was asleep around 6 a.m. Sunday when he was roused out of bed by Hutchins and another woman arguing.

The second woman was staying at the victim’s residence, Smart said. The relationship between the pair was undisclosed.

Hutchins allegedly kicked the other woman in the leg, and as the man grabbed a hold of her arms, she bit him on the wrist, Smart said. When police arrived, they noticed the bite mark.

Hutchins told police she wanted to get groceries and clothes that were at the man’s residence, according to Smart.

She was placed under arrest and brought to Penobscot County Jail, and was later released on bail.
