BURLINGTON, Maine — An unidentified man suffered serious injuries when the boat he was aboard ran up on shore of Upper Cold Stream Pond on Sunday, officials said.

Initial reports indicated that ambulance workers took the man from McGregor Road in Burlington to Penobscot Valley Hospital for transportation via LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The accident was reported at about 2:30 p.m. The Maine Warden Service is investigating the accident. Game Warden Paul Farrington did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Also known as The Little Narrows, Upper Cold Stream Pond is one of two large bodies of water bisected by Transalpine and Long Ridge roads in Lincoln. A small part of it extends into Burlington.
