Driver killed in Greenbush crash

GREENBUSH, Maine — An unidentified man died at the scene of a car accident on Greenfield Road late Friday, police said. No other passengers were involved.

The vehicle was heading northeast when it appears to have veered sharply off the roadway into trees at a house at 234 Greenfield Road, Penobscot County Sheriff said.

The man appears to have been killed instantly. Firefighters from several area towns were at the scene.

The accident was reported at about 9:15 p.m.
