PARIS, Maine — An Oxford woman who pleaded guilty to assault and criminal mischief in Oxford County Superior Court on Wednesday will serve seven days in jail and is required to pay restitution for damage done to an Oxford Police Department cruiser.

Amanda Brulotte, 31, of Speedway Lane in Oxford, pleaded guilty to one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief and was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with all but seven days suspended and one year of parole.

Brulotte also received one year of probation and is required to pay $262 to the town of Oxford for kicking out the back window of an Oxford Police Department cruiser during her arrest in March.

According to a complaint by Oxford Police Officer Jeremy Coron, police responded to a party at Brulotte’s residence on the evening of March 12 and were told by several witnesses that Brulotte had been drinking, became upset and began attacking people at the party.

Witnesses at the party signed statements that convinced Coron and Norway Police Department Officer Mitchell Shaw that Brulotte had repeatedly attacked her boyfriend, so they attempted to arrest her on a charge of domestic assault, according to Coron’s report.

Brulotte resisted arrest and struggled with officers when they attempted to put her in the cruiser, Coron said. At one point, Brulotte was able to kick Shaw in the stomach.

After getting Brulotte into the cruiser, Coron turned back to other members of the party when he heard a loud shattering noise and spun around to find that Brulotte had kicked out the back window of the cruiser, he wrote in the report.

Brulotte was eventually placed in another cruiser and transported to the Oxford County Jail in Paris, Coron reported.

In April, Brulotte was indicted on four counts, including assault on an officer, aggravated criminal mischief, assault and refusing to submit to arrest.

With her plea, she brought the charges down to assault and criminal mischief.
