Brewer police nab Texas man with felony drunken-driving warrant

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BREWER, Maine — A Texas man with a felony drunken-driving warrant was arrested Tuesday evening in Brewer, according to police.

A local business told police around 7:30 p.m. that a possible drunken driver was operating a vehicle with Texas plates, according to Brewer Deputy Chief Jason Moffitt.

About half an hour later, Brewer police Officer Fred Luce received a report of a vehicle matching that description parked at the Brewer Motor Inn, the deputy chief said.

A check of the driver, Kenneth Studer, 55, revealed he had an outstanding felony warrant for operating under the influence in Tarrant County, Texas, according to Moffitt.

Studer was placed under arrest on the warrant and brought to Penobscot County Jail, where he will likely await extradition to Texas.
