ORNEVILLE – Dean Ardell Cowing Sr. died Aug. 28, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born September 6, 1937 in Medford. At the tender age of 14 he began driving truck. He enjoyed going on drives in the country on Sundays, which turned into family gatherings through the rest of his life.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Stone) Cowing of 53 years, five children, Vicky (Cowing) Allen and husband Chris, Helen Golding, Dean Cowing Jr. and wife Barbara, Earl Thomas Cowing and wife Sherry, and Julie Young and her best friend Richard Hawes, 10 beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister, Loretta Najah, uncle, Leigh and wife, Sam, and Aunt Berl. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen (Cowing) McDonald, brother, Raymond McDonald, great-granddaughter, Vanessa Cowing, his beloved grandparents, Earl and Francis (Hanscom) Cowing of South LaGrange, who held a special place in his heart.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, with the Rev. Apolinary Kavishe at St. Pauls/Xavier Church, Riverside Street, Milo.
