EAST MACHIAS – Wesley James Keeton, 4, beloved son of Lee and Kate Keeton, died as the result of a tragic accident at his home on Aug. 24, 2013. He was born Nov. 20, 2008.
Wes was a curly haired guy with a little voice and a big personality. He enjoyed fishing with his dad, cooking from the countertop with his mother, going on adventure days with his family to their “mystery location,” romping around with his cousins and playing in the field with his siblings. ” Little Man” loved t-ball, playing in the garden with Uncle Troy, bird-watching, chickens and his cat, Peter Black.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Stanley Look. In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings, Derek John and Rachel Lee Keeton. He also leaves his paternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Newman; his grandmother, Cheryl Look; maternal grandparents, John Gaddis and Ann Gaddis; his loving aunts and uncles, John Look, Rebecca and Michael Hennessey, Meghan and Troy Dennison, Zeke and Abigail Gaddis; cousins Benjamin, Lily and Sarah Hennessey, Brian and Grace Dennison and George, John and James Gaddis.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held 1 p.m. Thursday Aug. 29, at East Machias Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship fund in Wesley’s memory for local children. Donations may be sent to Machias Savings care of Jennifer Tuell, P.O. Box 318, Machias ME 04654.
