BANGOR, Maine — With a high number of car burglaries over the month of August, Bangor police are reminding residents to lock vehicles.
Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards said officers have responded to 62 motor vehicle burglary calls since the beginning of the month.
Edwards noted most of the calls occur during the night. He is advising that residents be sure their vehicles are locked prior to going to bed and keeping high-value items, such as cash and electronics, out of unattended vehicles.
The lieutenant said it’s also key to record serial numbers and photograph any high value item or mark it with initials for easy identification should a stolen item be recovered.
