FRANKFORT – Malcolm “Mack” H. Bridges, 78, passed away peacefully Aug. 23, 2013, at a Brewer health care facility. Mack was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Belfast, to Adrian and Minnie Bridges.
Mack was a man that had great mechanical ability and with that he made a living and a hobby. He worked as a mechanic at several garages in both the Bangor and Belfast areas and in his spare time and on weekends was always working on something with a motor. Mack loved to tinker on his tractors and bulldozer or a family member’s car. He enjoyed camping and a good deal found at local yard sales. Mack will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Mack is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Charlotte P. (Clark) Bridges of Frankfort; his sons, Raymond and wife, Marianne, of Prospect, and Ronald and wife, Robin, of Winterport; his daughter, Pamela Lane and husband, Stephen, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Erin and Michael Bridges, Dylan and Kaleb Bridges, Libby Lane, Eric Lane, and Stephen Lane Jr.; two great-grandsons, Cooper and Marcus; a brother, Glen Bridges; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mack was predeceased by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
A funeral service celebrating Mack’s life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with Pastor Judy Ahles officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe.
