A Portland man has been charged with trespassing after police say he went to the Rhode Island beach house of singer Taylor Swift, according to an Associated Press report.
Joseph Bernatche, 55, of Portland allegedly handed a security guard at the house a note with his cellphone number, telling Swift to call him, according to the report. A similar visit in April earned Bernatche a no-trespass notice from police.
Bernatche is due in Rhode Island court Friday on the trespassing charge, according to the report. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of willful trespass.
It was unclear from the report when Bernatche visited Swift’s house, but his arrest occurred July 27.
