Brewer police seeking suspects in identity theft

BREWER, Maine — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two people who allegedly stole a purse in Bangor and used the victim’s checkbook to purchase merchandise at a Walmart store in Brewer.

A purse was stolen from the victim’s car in Bangor on Sunday, according to a statement from the Brewer Police Department. On the same day, the male and female suspects in the theft went to Walmart in Brewer, where they allegedly used the victim’s ID and checkbook to purchase more than $200 in merchandise.

The two suspects allegedly left in a Dodge Caravan.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of the suspects is asked to call the Brewer Police Department at 989-7003.
