ROCKLAND, Maine — A 20-year-old Cushing man who has been sought for the past month in connection with alleged assaults in the city was arrested Monday night.
Brian R. Burch was arrested Monday night and charged with aggravated assault, assault and theft of drugs. He was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland and is scheduled to appear in Rockland District Court Wednesday afternoon.
According to an affidavit filed by the Rockland Police Department, Burch has been sought since July 23, when he was accused of assaulting a Rockland man near a downtown bar.
On that same day, police received a report from a woman that Burch had stolen three of her prescribed Ritalin pills from her car.
Then, on July 30, police received a report that he had beaten and injured a man in front of the Lincoln Street Center. Witnesses told police that Burch kneed the victim in the face and then struck him repeatedly in the face while the man was on the ground.
Details about Monday’s arrest were not immediately available Wednesday.
