Portland man kicked out of Bangor bar, arrested upon return

BANGOR, Maine — Police on a detail at the Half Acre dance and nightclub early Saturday saw a security guard remove a man, who then became even more disruptive, Bangor police Sgt. Larry Webber said.

“He was loud, cursing and screaming obscenities at random patrons,” the sergeant said.

Herman Santitano Ramirez, 33, of Portland was approached at about 12:30 a.m. by Officer David Farrar, backed up by Officer Kevin Haefele, who told him he would be arrested if he didn’t calm down, Webber said. Farrar gave him verbal trespassing and disorderly conduct warnings and ordered him to leave.

“He left after being ordered three times,” Webber said.

That, however, was not the last time police would see of Ramirez, the sergeant said.

“At about five minutes to 1 [a.m.], he shows back up and he’s screaming and yelling and banging on vehicles,” Webber said.

Ramirez was subsequently arrested for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was released on bail Saturday afternoon, a jail official said.

The city owns the parking lot behind the Half Acre and Diamonds Gentleman’s Club, known as the Lower Atler Lot, and police leaders in recent months have placed a detail in the area after neighbors complained.
