SACO, Maine — A man died Friday morning after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree, according to police.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m., according to Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland. The man’s name, hometown and age weren’t immediately available.

The man’s Ford left Jenkins Road and struck a tree, according to Holland. Witnesses reported to police that the vehicle appeared to “just run off the roadway.”

Jenkins Road was closed to traffic while police reconstructed and investigated the crash, Holland said.
