Bone marrow registry

BREWER, Maine — Community members are invited to join the bone marrow registry during the Eastern Maine Medical Center Champion the Cure Challenge 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center.

There is no cost to participate in the registry. For information, call Brenda Clements at 973-8810.


Walk to Defeat ALS

BANGOR, Maine — The sixth annual Bangor Walk to Defeat ALS will take place Saturday, Aug. 24, at Hayford Park on 13th St. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. The walk will begin at 10 a.m. representatives from The Jackson Laboratory and The ALS Association’s Northern New England office speak.
