Bangor man charged with domestic violence assault after altercation with family member

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A local man was arrested Friday evening after an altercation with a female family member, police said.

Anthony King, 25, had fled the scene on Deer Isle Road by the time police had arrived, according to Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards.

The victim showed police a red mark on her shoulder, indicating that an argument between King and herself had turned physical, according to Edwards.

Thinking King had taken off toward Union Street, police decided to check that area, the lieutenant said, and security at Penobscot Job Corps informed police that King was in their security office.

Police subsequently went over there and arrested King and charged him with domestic violence assault, Edwards said. He was brought to Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail.
