WATERVILLE, Maine — A woman went to jail Monday after allegedly threatening staff at a Waterville hospital.
Officers had originally gone to MaineGeneral Hospital’s emergency department to deal with a different person that had been brought in earlier in the afternoon for an evaluation, Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said.
Police never had a chance to assess the originally intended situation because when the officers arrived, hospital staff advised them that Kimberly Bartlett, 22, of Waterville was out of control and acting aggressively toward staff, Rumsey explained.
Bartlett had allegedly been making threats to harm staff after being discharged for an undisclosed matter, Rumsey said, and she attempted to run after a doctor. Even though a nurse stepped in, Bartlett was said to have punched the nurse in the chest.
Police arrested Bartlett and charged her with assault and terrorizing, Rumsey said. She is being held at the Kennebec County Jail on $1,000 bail.
