BANGOR, Maine — A 21-year-old local man was arrested early Sunday morning after multiple warnings to leave a nightclub, police said.

Keith Austin, 21, had tried to enter Tantrum on a couple of occasions but was denied entry because he was so intoxicated, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

When police arrived, bouncers were restraining Austin, Edwards said. The sergeant said Austin was so intoxicated police could not understand what he was saying as he repeatedly screamed at officers.

Bouncers and police wanted the same thing, for Austin to go home, and police reportedly offered to call Austin a cab, which he refused. He began to walk away after being given a disorderly conduct warning.

But even after he started to walk away, Austin continued to argue and eventually came back toward the club, so police placed him under arrest and charged him with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, Edwards said.
