Man charged with assault after altercation at Bangor nightclub

BANGOR, Maine — A man was charged with assault early Saturday morning after an altercation at a Bangor nightclub left another man bloodied and bruised.

Vidal Rodriguez, 22, of Bangor was summoned on an assault charge after the altercation at Half-Acre on Harlow Street, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said. Rodriguez was not arrested.

According to witnesses, Rodriguez body-slammed his victim into the ground and kicked him in the face, Edwards said.

By the time police arrived, Rodriguez had left the club, but Officer Germaine Walker eventually found him and charged him with assault, the sergeant said.

The victim did not go to the hospital.
