Odlin Road projects likely to cause traffic delays this month in Bangor

By Nick McCrea, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — Crews will begin paving a portion of Odlin Road between I-395 and Ammo Industrial Park in Bangor starting Monday, Aug. 19, according to a city news release.

Work will include improving the gravel shoulders, grinding existing pavement and laying down new pavement. Pan Am Railroad crews also will be replacing railroad ties at the Odlin Road Crossing this month, likely causing traffic delays.

The railroad crossing repairs will force crews to close the road while railway workers replace the tracks across Odlin Road, just south of Perry Road. That work is scheduled to take place Aug. 27 and 28.

The rail replacement is expected to take two days, and traffic will be detoured around the work site.

Drivers who want to travel down Odlin Road entering from Route 2, Odlin Road North and I-395 can head west on Route 2 to Coldbrook Road in Hermon and then use the Coldbrook Road to get to the west end of Odlin, the city suggested in the release.

Traffic that enters Odlin Road from near I-395 will have to use Perry Road and Route 202 to get around the closure to the west end of Odlin Road.
