LINCOLN – Clifton Page Barker, 85, died Aug. 5, 2013, at Maine Veteran’s Home, Bangor. He was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Milford, the son of Perry and Helen (Page) Barker.
Clifton was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service, which included the Berlin Airlift in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Horeb Lodge No. 93 AF & AM of Lincoln and Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor. He worked as CFO of Penobscot Valley Hospital and a company that built hospitals in Florida. He worked as a banker for many years in both Maine and Florida and served as town manager in Mattawamkeag and Lincoln.
He is survived by a daughter, Megan Barker of Lincoln; a brother, Bruce Barker and Emmy, of Lincoln; two nephews, Bruce Barker Jr. and Denyse, and Jon Barker and Michele. He was predeceased by his first wife, Alta (Shorey) Barker, his second wife, Marita (Millett) Barker and a special friend, Dorothy “Dot” Savage.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a Masonic funeral will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Richardson officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be at Mount Repose Cemetery, Burlington. A gathering will be after at Burlington VFW Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s Foundation. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
