PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Police have charged a juvenile and two adults in the theft of two laptops at Presque Isle Middle School.
The suspects, who gained access through a second floor window, also rummaged through items throughout the building, but nothing else was stolen and no damage was caused, police said.
It is believed that the burglary occurred either on Aug. 1 or early in the morning the next day.
Two laptops were valued at $2,400.
The three suspects were identified with the help of surveillance video, which was reviewed by staff at MSAD 1.
Sgt. Mark Barnes arrested a 17-year-old male without incident at his residence. Joshua Easler, 24, of Mapleton and Eric Peterson, 20, of Presque Isle were also charged.
All three were charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass. Easler was also charged with violation of condition of release.
Peterson and Easler are scheduled to appear in Caribou Superior Court on Sept. 17.
The juvenile was placed on house arrest by the Juvenile Community Corrections Officer and released to his mother. His court date is scheduled for Oct. 3.
