WATERBORO, Maine — A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after she struck a fence post and then left the scene of the crash, police said.
Tamara Taylor, 42, of Hollis apparently was under the influence of some sort of medication when she struck a fence post at the Children’s Challenge, Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office said.
Taylor was seen continuing to drive erratically after leaving the scene of the crash, according to King. One witness to the crash was a retired Biddeford police officer.
York County Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Sanborn spotted Taylor’s vehicle a short time later and stopped it, King said.
After Taylor was questioned, she was placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving while impaired. She is being held at the York County Jail.
