David Lee Cowett

WILTON – David passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, with the love of his life by his side at his home. He was born June 28, 1956, son of Everett and Camilla Cowett.

David grew up in Presque Isle and graduated from Presque Isle High School. David was employed as manger for Conifer Industries, Farmington, in which he won many awards and was a great mentor to his employees. David loved to go fishing, gardening, and tell humorous stories and jokes. The most important thing in his life was all of his family, which meant everything to him. He loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unwavering courage, his devotion to his family, generous spirit and willingness to laugh. He is described by his brothers and sisters as a hero and best friend. To say he will be greatly missed is not saying enough.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Christy; son, David Jr. and wife, Desiree; daughter, Jessica; grandchildren, David III and Daniel, of Wilton; mother, Camilla Cowett of Presque Isle; sisters, Terry and Doug of South Paris, and LuAnne Michaud and Brian of Mapleton; brothers, Michael and Sherry, Rob and Alexia, Alan and Tina, all of Presque Isle, Tim and Nancy of Caribou, Steven and Janice of Houlton, and Dana and Shari of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Everett Cowett; brother, Larry; niece, Morgan; and an infant daughter.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at his home, 7 Thomas St., Wilton. No formal attire, as he asked everyone to attend just as they are. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Christy Cowett, 7 Thomas St., Wilton, ME 04294.
