WATERVILLE, Maine — Police have yet to track down a suspect who held up a pizzeria on Sunday afternoon, but officers have numerous leads.

“We have several active leads that the detective division is working on,” Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Tuesday.

The suspect, who was captured on video surveillance, robbed the Little Caesars pizza shop on Main Street around 1 p.m. Sunday.

The man fled the store with a small, undisclosed amount of cash.

The pizza shop opened last winter, Rumsey said.

“On the surface it doesn’t seem like a likely place to rob, but here we are,” he said. “The investigation is moving along.”

The suspect handed a cashier a threatening note demanding cash, but did not display any weapons.

Anyone who has seen the man should contact Waterville police at 680-4700.
