PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Five people were taken to the hospital Monday after a collision at the intersection of Parsons and Connector roads, police said.

Shortly after 5 p.m., William Sullivan, 50, of Caribou was heading southbound on Parsons Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a Mitsubishi driven by 15-year-old Brandon Collins of Mapleton, according to a statement from Presque Isle police.

Two passengers in Sullivan’s vehicle, Christopher Knight, 16, and Brianna Michaud, 19, of Caribou, along with Sullivan, were transported to the Aroostook Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening.

Collins and his mother, Susan Collins, 39, of Mapleton, who was a passenger in the car, were transported to the same hospital, also with injuries not considered life threatening.

Both drivers and all their passengers were wearing seat belts, the statement indicated. Presque Isle Fire and Rescue, Crown Ambulance and Caribou Ambulance assisted police at the scene.
