CALAIS – Doreen Joanne Taylor, 64, passed away peacefully with her family at her side July 29, 2013, at a Machias hospital. She was born April 25, 1949, in Eastport, daughter of Morris and Elizabeth (Coleman) Taylor.
Doreen grew up in Calais, attending both the Catholic grade school and then Calais High School. She worked many years at Barnard’s Nursing Home, Calais. Doreen loved the company of her family and friends especially all the summer days spent at camp with her parents and her beloved poodle, Pierre.
In addition to her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her infant son, Anthony Daniel Taylor. She will be forever remembered by her three siblings, Daniel Taylor and wife, Lila, of Calais, Norma Sharpe and husband, Gary, of St. Stephen, New Brunswick and Mary Greenlaw and husband, Francis, of Calais; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Immaculate Conception R.C.
