MACHIAS, Maine — A Princeton man was indicted earlier this month on two sex offenses.

Michael Richey, 41, was charged with gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact. The offenses allegedly occurred where Richey was living in Indian Township in September 2012.

The gross sexual assault charge alleges that he performed a sex act with the victim as the result of force and threat, and the charge of unlawful sexual contact alleges that he touched her genital area.

The victim, who was 22 at the time, knew Richey through her job in Calais, according to Assistant District Attorney Paul Cavanaugh.

The indictments were returned by the Washington County grand jury on July 12. Four other people were indicted as follows:

Brandon Jeffrey Johnson, 26, Addison, two counts of criminal operating under the influence, two counts of operating after suspension, improper plates, failure to appear in court.

Derek Clayton Jordan, 27, Machiasport, theft by unauthorized taking.

Steven J. Seavey, Edmunds, 41, theft by unauthorized taking.

Craig A. Windsor, 28, Baileyville, operating after suspension, failure to stop for an officer, eluding an officer, failure to appear in court.
