Flood advisory issued for Penobscot, Washington counties

CARIBOU, Maine — A flood advisory has been issued for central Penobscot County and Washington County due to heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.

The advisory is in effect until 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Heavy rain is expected to fall across Washington and Penobscot counties throughout the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening.

The rain could produce standing water on roadways and motorists are advised to use caution.
