Burglars leave trail of damage at Bath food factory

By Beth Brogan, BDN Staff

BATH, Maine — Bath police are investigating a burglary at the Gagne Foods factory on Wing Farm Parkway late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

The culprit or culprits damaged wiring on the roof, overturned containers of cigarette butts and jammed potato chip bags into the vents before gaining entry to the building through skylights, Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said Wednesday.

Nothing was taken, but signs were ripped off a truck and a wall in the building, resulting in an estimated $500 in damage.

Police continue to investigate the incident. They do not yet have suspects, Savary said.
