BANGOR, Maine — Four new police officers are ready to start patrolling the streets of Bangor, Sgt. Paul Edwards announced Wednesday.

The new officers are Keith Larby, Kris Beck, Joe Orcutt and Jose Vidaurri.

Larby, an Old Town native, graduated from Old Town High School in 2010 and has a criminal justice degree from Beal College.

Beck, a 7-year U.S. Army veteran, entered the armed forces after graduating from Hermon High School in 2001. An airborne infantryman, he served 33 months in Iraq and earned a bronze star medal during his final deployment.

Upon completing the Police Academy, Beck was awarded the professionalism award.

Orcutt is a 1998 graduate of Bucksport High School who has a degree in communications from the New England School of Communications.

Vidaurri, a native of Austin, Texas, has a degree in psychology from the University of Texas. He decided to pursue a law enforcement career in Bangor after visiting family in Maine.
