Jay L. Stanhope

BANGOR – Jay L. Stanhope, 52, passed away, unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home. Jay was the seventh child of John and Elizabeth Stanhope of Carmel.
Jay was a loving son and brother. He worked in construction for H.E. Sargent for many years. He greatly enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with family and friends. Jay was a kind and generous person who was always there to lend a helping hand without being asked. He recently celebrated his birthday with his best friend, Jeff Harvey, on a fishing trip. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by five brothers, John Stanhope, James Stanhope and Lynn, Jeffrey Stanhope and Liana, Joel Stanhope and Jeremy Stanhope and Donna; three sisters, Elaine DiCenso, Barbara Thompson and Jeffrey, and Rosemary Snow and Mark; 14 nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and great-nephews. Jay was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Susan Stanhope.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, Bangor and Brewer.
